Summer Backyard Wedding - M & C

Planning your backyard wedding from out of state? A planning team you can trust can make it happen!

M & G planned their NJ backyard wedding from Florida, arriving days before they said ‘I Do’. So many details go into a backyard event, but their event went on without a hitch. We have some top tips for planning from afar.

  1. Stay organized! This could mean hiring a planner, or hiring vendors that can handle multiple needs. For example, Peppercorn Events handle coordination, food, staff and rentals. This allowed M & G to only need to speak with one company to handle multiple needs. We were then easily able to reach out to the band, officiant and florist to tie all the details together.

  2. Be decisive! This is a good skill to have for any DIY space, but specifically when you are planning from a far. Don’t waste time by second guessing your vision or making changes to the plan. Your vendors can help guide you if you need more information to make an informed decision, but if your heart is set on round tables, don’t start looking into rectangle tables just because you some them on Pinterest…

  3. Hire a team you trust! Having vendors who understand your vision, communicate in a timely manner and are easy to talk to are a MUST. You won’t feel a connection with everyone, and that’s ok. Talk to multiple vendors before booking and move forward with someone you feel comfortable with. It can take a lot of stress off the planning process
