Backyard summer parties are one of our favorite events to organize. They are fun, intimate, and a great way to gather family and friends. Here are some tips to help you host the best summer party!
1. Develop a color scheme and theme
Themes and color schemes are a great way to help put your party over the top. Having a flowing color scheme and theme throughout your decorations, china, flatware, and drinkware can really add in beautiful touches to your backyard summer party vision. We love using pops of color in our flatware and drinkware, pink is very in right now, and rustic elements such as wooden crates and small mismatched vases as centerpieces to hold flowers. Using woven placemats can also add that rustic touch.
2. Lights
Including lights to your party can add a touch of charm to it! String lights, lanterns, and small candles are all a great option to use as decoration or centerpieces.
3. Picking the perfect menu
The menu can be one of the most important aspects of your party. Our favorite appetizers to serve are our preserved lemon linguine with seared shrimp and oregano gremolata, watermelon radish salad with goat cheese and mustard vinaigrette, and charred chili lime corn salad with spicy greens, cherry tomatoes, and queso fresco. Our favorite entrees are the chicken piccata with artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, and capers, and our grilled pork loin with blackberry sauce.
4. Create a custom signature drink
Creating a signature drink and dressing it up can help your party guests get a great sense of you and your style. This can be pre made in bulk and served in a large dispenser, with garnishing that your guests can dress up their drink with.
5. Get competitive
Get some backyard games to get your guests having some fun and letting out their inner child!
6. Fire Pit
End the night off with a gathering around a cozy fire. Closing the night with chatting and stories around the fire is the ultimate way to end your summer party! And smores are always enjoyed too!
